JUNIOR SCIENCE LAB
Hook up with science
and hang out with the future.
To catalyze and support excellence in teaching and learning
of science and technology, and other core subjects through
innovative, research-based instructional strategies
and use of novel technologies the Junior Science Lab
has been conceptualized. Primary and secondary students
are encouraged to in-crease their academic achievement
and 21st century skills in science and engineering by
enhancing the content knowledge, pedagogical content
knowledge, and instructional strategies across a wide
span of grade levels and apply their new knowledge to
development or scientific temperament. The use of labs
and hands-on activities that provide concrete examples
of in-class activities are encouraged and students themselves
perform experiments under supervision to supplement
their theoretical knowledge which will lead to enhanced
learning progressions in higher education.

MATH
LABORATORY
MATHEMATICS teaching
in today’s school is text book dominated, concerned
primarily with the manipulation of symbols and, all
too often, largely removed from the real world of the
child. Mathematics enjoys a reputation, which is clearly
less then inspiring.
Merely providing every learner with the traditionally
handed down box geometrical instrument is inadequate
and it is to be complemented and supplemented by a bag
of manipulative math learning kits for the child’s
use.

Recognizing that Children really need a mathematics
program that that is very much alive, vibrant, relevant
and meaningful; a program that paves the way to seek
and understand the world around them New Horizon Gurukul
has designed an Innovative math Lab.
The Mathematics Laboratory is a place, rich in manipulative
material, to which children have ready access to handle
them, perform mathematical experiments, play mathematical
games, solve mathematical puzzles and become involved
in other activities. An integral part of the mathematics
laboratory is the manipulation of objects. Through manipulating
concrete material, the child is better able to bridge
the gap between the real and the abstract world. It
is also a process and a procedure for teaching and learning
mathematics. The laboratory approach allows pupils to
set up mathematical experiments for the purpose of discovering
some mathematical principle, pattern, or process. The
mathematics laboratory is activity-centered; the child
is placed in problem solving situation and through self
exploration and discovery, he or she provides a solution
based on his or her experience, needs, and interests. |

COMPUTER LAB
New Horizon Gurukul boasts
of a comprehensive computer lab comprising of individual
40 console work station with the latest technology and
software programming allowing each student to work freely
and independently under the guidance of a professinal
Computer specialist. The sophisticated computer suite
containing networked computers allows the teacher to
guide the students while they are working from his console
which aids in quick and instantaneous correction of
errors and suggestions for innovative solutions.
Computer Education is a part of the CBSE curriculum
right from Grade 1 level and the students are encouraged
to explore and utilize the Lab on a regular basis in
a bid to make them tech savvy for the IT Capital of
India. |

ART ROOM
New Horizon Gurukul takes
pride in providing the best possible facilities for
art instruction by the establishment of an airy secluded
Art room with large windows which makes an Art class
a unique experience giving the students a "chance
in a lifetime" to get the kind of teaching-learning
space one has always dreamed of.
A trained Art teacher guides the students’ right
from primary level and helps in establishing a keen
and appreciative artistic sensitivity in them. Pottery,
ceramic, oil pastel and charcoals are some of the art
designing classes that have been planned for the students.

SPORTS
AND GAMES
Vast indoor space has
been provided. State of the art Table tennis facilities
has encouraged a keen interest to take up the game and
in the offing is also Three indoor Badminton courts so that rainy
days don’t play spoilsport with the altruistic
aim for gunning for the gold.
Students are trained in Basket ball, volley ball ,long
jump and track events.
Variety of attractive park play equipments have been
placed for the young ones.

live longer and healthier. New Horizon Gurukul aims
to nurture thses intrinsic qualities in its students
through the use of a Yoga , Meditation and Kirtan room
in a bid to reconnect to our roots.

COUNSELLING AND SPECIAL EDUCATION
Counselling for the students
indeed plays a vital role in academic performance of
the students and helps them to lead a happy life.
New Horizon Gurukul has a well qualified Counselling
and Special Education team with a well equipped resource
room that addresses the students in need to overcome
their educational lapses and hurdles.

LANGUAGE LAB
The Language Laboratory is equipped with an ICT enabled
room with over head projector and wide scope speakers
which are used for interactive language tutorials. These
are attended by Primary and Secondary students. Lessons
and exercises are recorded on a weekly basis so that
the students are exposed to a variety of listening and
speaking drills. This especially benefits students who
are looking for development of skills in Public-speaking
in English and also aims at confidence-building for
interviews and competitive examinations. The Language
Laboratory sessions also include word games, quizzes,
extemporary speaking, debates, skits, project presentations,
role-plays etc. These sessions are complemented by online
learning sessions, etiquette training and body language
awareness sessions which take place in the Multi-Purpose
Language Lab.

Opening up new horizons in language communications
SPECIAL pronunciation development classes are conducted
with recording facility for students to rectify errors
and allow them a continuous repetition of correct pronunciation.
It has ushered in a new world of language sophistry
for imbibing the soft skills so essential for every
aspiring youngster poised to enter the adult world.
The learner is equipped to understand the subtle nuances
of the language and react appropriately. This is only
possible by acquiring appropriate intelligent communication
skills and making him language savvy.

SICK ROOM
To provide immediate minimum medical requirements in
an emergency a sick room has been equipped.A full time
staff nurse and an ambulance are available round the
