MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY : M.Tech in Computer Network Engineering

 

The M.Tech program in Computer Network Engineering is a specialized masters degree program in computer networking. The well rounded curriculum consists of ten core subjects, three electives, three seminar topics and an extensive project.

• To train students in order to acquire significantly higher levels of technical and analytical problems solving capabilities
• To elevate and equip students significantly beyond a typical Bachelors degree.
• To facilitate access to niche technological jobs in the global workplace by imparting a very high standard of technical education.

 

Duration of the course:
M.Tech degree is extended over a period of two academic years, with each academic year comprising of 2 semesters.

Eligibility Criteria :
Admission to the Master of Technology Course shall be open to all the candidates who have passed B.E. / B.Tech. Examinations (in relevant field) of any recognised University and should have not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall not be less than 45%.

Among all the branches in computer science, computer networks stands out in terms of the number of job opportunities and the research carried out globally. A Masters degree in CNE will also enable students to seek exclusive job opportunities in the area of computer networking which would not be open to job-seekers without a M.Tech in computer networks.

Research Activities

The Computer Science and Engineering Department is a VTU recognized research center. There are currently 3 PhD scholars pursuing their PhD in the department. The current research areas are: High Performance Computing, Task Scheduling in Heterogeneous Systems and Cloud Computing.
