A nation becomes a success story by virtue of its human resource or human capital as the term has been redefined; to produce an impact across the globe in different fields, the human capital should consist of all-round personalities. Co-curricular activities during the academic life does contribute to the manifestation of social, intellectual, physical and mental perfection.
 
Glimpse of Sargam and Founders day - 2009
 

The three-day inter-collegiate fest of New Horizon College “SARGAM-09” was held during 5th, 6th and 7th November 2009, under the theme ‘Talents Battleground’. The cultural extravaganza witnessed a huge crowd of nearly 23,000 students and it was full of excitement and enthusiasm.

Students from 69 Engineering colleges, 64 Degree colleges and 106 PU colleges assembled there to show case their talent. The main stage was designed like a huge ship crossing a violent sea and the contestants were pirates in a sea of competition.

The first day of the fest saw colourful performances in the category of Indian and Western dance. PU college students enthralled the audience performing Pardesi girl, Delhi chode and other popular numbers in the Indian group dance category.

The solo category witnessed some good performances. Ms. Yashika from New Horizon PU College presented Koi jomila, Shankar Mahadevan’s breathless song with incredible sprit. Choreographer Chandra Mohan who was present as the Judge showcased his dancing talent to the tunes of Telugu hit songs.


The attraction of the cultural carnival was the ‘Jukebox’. The venue was managed by professional DJs and it was dedicated to free style dancing and pure enjoyment. Thousands of students danced together to the tunes of popular tracks. In addition, students also participated in the ‘Dumb charades’, ‘Antakshari, Rangoli’, ‘Vegetable cutting’, ‘Drawing’ and ‘Poster-making’ contests.


‘Collage’, ‘Debate’, Popular dancing with the theme revolving around Michael Jackson, ‘Clay modeling’ and a ‘Fashion show’ were the events held on the second day of the fest.
There were more than 300 volunteers on campus making sure that everyone enjoys the fest and took back some memorable moments.

The endless creativity and imagination of the students took on a variety of shapes in ‘Clay modeling’. Working on the theme of ‘aggression’ participants designed demons, Lord Shiva, dangerous creatures, human skulls and weapons.

 
 
 
 
     

On the Founder’s Day,the overall best faculty of NHCE, NHC, and NHLI respectively were awarded with Rs.10,000/- each and 2 faculties from each departments of NHCE, NHC, and NHLI were awarded the academic excellence award with Rs.5,000/- each by Shri.Mohan Manghnani, Managing Trustee, New Horizon Educational and Cultural Trust and Founder Chairman, NHCE.

The Scholarships for the academic year were awarded to 619meritorious and deserving students of NHCE on this auspicious occasion.
