Objectives

The PGDBM program is designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to become an effective manager in a variety of organisational settings. It is a broad based, career advancement degree rather than technical training for a particular job within an organisation. The broad goal of the program is

To provide students with the foundation in content and competencies that will support their development as effective managers in a variety of organisational settings.
To offer a program that assures full coverage of the generally recognised “common body of knowledge” while emphasizing the development of sound methodological skills to foster decision making
To develop critical thinking and communication skills, thereby allowing our graduates to conduct research independently and be able to evaluate the work of others
To provide students with a curriculum that raises issues of ethics in business decision making and emphasizes the global character of contemporary enterprises
To contribute to the broadly defined service area through consulting and training the corporate world

The Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) is a two-year, full time program. The emphasis of the program is to develop in the candidate the ability to translate theory into practice. It aims at promoting an inquiring and analytical mind, which proactively seeks the right knowledge, acquires the appropriate skills and promotes the right attitude to develop capabilities needed to manage enterprises in the twenty-first century. We will be conferring degrees upon its successful graduating students, which will be accepted by both industry as well as the academic world, for purposes of being considered eligible for industry placement or higher studies. Our programme seeks to increase our students’ capacity for effective action as business leaders. Using a student-centered approach and emphasizing the close connection between management education and management practice, our learning model focuses on the fundamentals of business, analytical problem-solving skills, and the development of a clear view of both, strategic leadership, and what it means to lead.
